This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how this website uses them, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your choices, and to provide information to site operators. Similar technologies such as local storage may be used for comparable purposes.

2. Cookie categories we use

We group cookies into the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function, including security and remembering your cookie choices. These are always active and cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics — help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. When enabled, we use Vercel Web Analytics (privacy-friendly and cookieless), loaded only if you opt in.
  • Preferences — remember choices such as your language to personalise your experience. These are only set if you opt in.

3. The consent cookie

When you make a choice in our cookie banner or preferences panel, we store your decision in a first-party cookie named "quantume_consent". It records which categories you allowed, a version number and a timestamp. It is a strictly necessary cookie, set with SameSite=Lax, and it lasts for up to 180 days, after which we will ask again.

4. Managing your preferences

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by selecting "Cookie settings" in the footer, which reopens the preferences panel. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect how the site works.

5. Third-party cookies

We do not currently load third-party advertising cookies. If we introduce third-party analytics or other services in future, they will be listed here and will only be activated after you opt in to the relevant category.

6. Retention

Cookie lifetimes vary by purpose. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser, while persistent cookies such as the consent cookie remain for the period described above or until you delete them.

7. Changes and contact

We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes. For questions, contact [email protected].
